Dr Annie Doona

Ed. D (Lifelong Learning), MA (Equal Opportunities Studies), PGCert Ed (Further Education/Higher Education), BA Hons (Sociology), M.Inst.D  

Dr Annie Doona is self-employed as an educational consultant specializing in quality, governance, strategy development, equality, and diversity. She is the former President of IADT (Institute of Art, Design & Technology) Dun Laoghaire. She has considerable experience in further and higher education as a lecturer and manager in the UK and Ireland. She also has experience in chairing quality review panels, validation panels, programmatic and institutional reviews in the UK, Ireland, and Europe. She is currently the external Chair of Microsoft Dream Space Academic Council and was previously Chair of Academic Council at Griffith College. She has worked as an associate consultant with ThreeSixtyInsights on a number of projects including thematic reviews of quality assurance.

Dr Doona completed two terms as Chair of Screen Ireland in March 2021. She has been Chair of Galway Film Fleadh Board since September 2021. She is also a member of the Institute of Directors, Women in Film and Television Ireland, The Irish Film and Television Academy and is a Council Member of the Irish Film Institute. She speaks and publishes on diversity and women in the film industry, and women in higher education.
