Dr Cathy Peck (She/her) 

PhD (Sociolinguistics), MA (Applied Linguistics), PG Dip (EDI for Business), Cambridge DELTA, BA (Media/Politics) 

 

Cathy has over 20 years of experience in academic, management and leadership roles in higher education and project-based consultancy. She specialises in participatory, qualitative and mixed-methods research, reviews and evaluations. Cathy has particular interests in inclusive practice, intercultural competence development and critical discourse analysis. Over the course of her career, she has lived and worked in Australia, Ireland, Spain, South Korea and Vietnam.

Her work in education has involved developing nationally accredited and industry-based programmes as well as working with teaching and academic staff on enhancement and innovation activities. Cathy has led teams through the implementation of strategic institutional projects focused on the adoption of online learning, accessibility in the curriculum and Work Integrated Learning (WIL).

Her work in quality assurance has led her to be a member of over 40 expert panels for various evaluations, programme and institutional review activities in Ireland. Cathy has worked in both industry and academia, and regularly undertakes capacity development work with organisations in the education and training sector.

As a lifelong learner, Cathy continually engages with learning and development activities. In recent years she has undertaken postgraduate studies in EDI for Business and is currently pursuing additional studies in Public Policy (analysis and evaluation). In addition to authoring multiple reports for public sector agencies, Cathy has published a number of book chapters and peer-reviewed journal articles in education and training.
